Motorway vignette validity 2026 – how long can the e-vignette be used?

Validity of the daily motorway vignette

The daily motorway vignette is valid on the calendar day selected at the time of purchase.

Validity: 00:00–24:00.
It is not valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase, but until the end of the selected calendar day.
It provides nationwide entitlement.
It can be used on all toll motorways and expressways.

Validity of the 10-day motorway vignette

The 10-day vignette is valid on the specified start date and for the following 9 calendar days.

It is valid for a total of 10 consecutive calendar days.
It can be used until 24:00 on the last day.
It provides nationwide entitlement.

For example, a 10-day vignette starting on July 1 is valid until July 10 at 24:00.

Validity of the monthly motorway vignette

The monthly motorway vignette is valid from the start date specified at purchase until 24:00 on the same calendar day of the following month.

If there is no identical calendar day in the following month, the vignette expires at 24:00 on the last day of the following month.

For example, a monthly vignette starting on January 31 is valid until the last day of February at 24:00.

Validity of the annual national motorway vignette

The annual national motorway vignette is valid from January 1 of the given year – or, if purchased during the year, from the time of purchase – until January 31 of the following year at 24:00.

It can be used on the entire toll express road network of Hungary.
It provides a full-year entitlement only if it is available from the beginning of the year.
If purchased during the year, it is not valid retroactively.
For regular motorway users, this is usually the most convenient solution.

Validity of the county vignette

The county motorway vignette provides annual entitlement for the toll express road network of the given county. Its validity runs from January 1 of the given year – or, if purchased during the year, from the time of purchase – until January 31 of the following year at 24:00.

Several county vignettes can be purchased for one vehicle.
Beyond the border of the given county, it is valid until the first exit in the neighboring county.
If purchased during the year, it is not valid retroactively.
It can be a cost-effective solution for regular local or regional travel.

Validity of the M1 regional vignette

The M1 regional vignette provides annual entitlement for the toll express road network of Pest, Fejér, Komárom-Esztergom and Győr-Moson-Sopron counties. Its validity runs from January 1 of the given year – or, if purchased during the year, from the time of purchase – until January 31 of the following year at 24:00.

It is not valid exclusively on the M1 motorway.
It can be used on the entire toll express road network of the four affected counties.
If purchased during the year, it is not valid retroactively.
It can be a favorable solution for those who regularly travel in the M1 region.
